Black Friday Parking and Mobility Hub Feasibility Survey

Black Friday demand analysis across 3,000 spaces evaluating feasibility of a regional mobility hub.

The City of Greeley commissioned a high-intensity Black Friday parking utilization and turnover study across a 3,000-space retail plaza to evaluate peak-day demand and assess the site’s suitability for a future mobility or transportation hub. This is part of the Mobility Expansion for Regional Growth and Equity (MERGE) program. The mobility hub allows for critical regional/local connectivity as well as safe pedestrian and micro-mobility friendly connection between the north and south sides of the City of Greeley.

Parkalytics conducted 12 hourly aerial observations between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, capturing space-level utilization, dwell time, and turnover without collecting any personally identifiable information.

As part of the project, the City received Parkalytics software access to aerial imagery, zone-based analytics, heatmaps, and GIS-exportable datasets. The results provided empirical evidence to support redevelopment, multimodal access planning, and potential reallocation of surplus parking to transportation and shared-mobility functions.
